Help me find that new all-in-one "Steady-rig" thing

Hey folks,

I recently saw an article/video for a new "all-in-one" sort of steady-rig type device but I cannot remember the name of it.

It's about $3,500

It has a gimbal that you grip - hand placement is like right below the gimbal joint - and a long body that can sort of 'instantly' become a monopod, or a tripod, or a boom, etc,...

I think it's an American company maybe too.

I wish I had more to go on, but I only saw their promo once, and now I need to find them.

Absolutely is mate!

I have never seen any device that can deliver "moderately" steady in so many different physical arrangements with little or no hardware adjusting.

Like I said - it's not about being "perfectly" stable for this job - it's about delivering "workable" stability on a painfully fast and varied shoot schedule.

Price is reasonable too.
 
I think you threw a few red herrings in there with the original post...
"new"--Eddie Barber has been making a version of the Steadipod (with different spellings) for many years.
"3500"--costs between 500-750 depending on version
"gimbal"--does not incorporate a gimbal in the Steadicam sense (this has only become more complicated with the brushless gimbal rigs in recent years).

There's nothing notably revolutionary with the idea behind this, it's a concept that has been around for decades. In 1983 I put a home video camera on a lightweight tripod, extended the center column, spread out the legs and then ran around my dorm hallways. The profile was pretty much exactly the same as the Steadipod.

Not sure which is more funny- the mic placed midway on the center column or the base of that contraption being jammed against her twat. That is a microphone, right? Or is it a mouse crawling down to her nether region??

So I got to try out the "StediPod" and damn if it doesn't perform pretty much exactly as shown in the videos.

And I'm glad I remembered the price wrong. It's more like $775 with ALL the extra options and accessories.

Gonna nab one asap.

On days with 20-30 setups, this thing is going to make a huge difference I suspect.
