Help me! Could it be wrong compression?

Hello,

Well I'm working on a project and I've tried exporting in a few ways but each one ends up looking like this
Picture8.png

Picture9.png

I shot it on 720i 24p and the raw footage looks so much smoother... See where the shadows are in the first frame? its all choppy and stuff... for second picture the background is pixilated... Is this because my export setting? These frames are exported on HDV 720p24 size setting is compressor native...

I did add some filters on there but the footage on final cut looks smooth as silk.

I guess the main question of this entire discussion is: What is the suggested export setting for 720i footage on Final Cut Pro? (highest quality and able to put it on a DVD)

I could be wrong, maybe this is the best there is, I'm just being way to critical.

Thank you!

For the shadows that are pixelated, it looks to me like that's just the noise that the HVX typically gets in dark areas. Also your first pic looks severely squished. Check you distort parameter or pixel aspect ration of your sequence/export settings.

Check out this thread I started. There is some great info in there regarding compression. there are other threads as well.

Also check out the output and compression forum if that does not help.

I did not light properly and had some noise as well. I got Neatvideo for MAC and noise go bye-bye. I highly recommend that program if your using the HVX200. Unless you know how to light properly. Which I am still learning.
