Help me chose the right camera.

Hi there Guys,

I'm from Australia and i'm definitely an amateur when it comes to filming, i've done some post production stuff in the past but i've got a whole lot to learn. i've played around and filmed on my mates DVX's and i'm really keen to buy a camera of my own and start filming and editing. We mostly film BMX/Skate stuff. I would be looking to get a PAL camera.

My budget would be about $4,500-$5,000 AUSTRALIAN, ($4100-$4600 US)
But that budget should include a super wide angle fish eye, similar to this century optics guy -

Originally i was planning on buying a DVX100. My friend films with one and i'm always impressed with the colors and quality of the footage. However, i'm constantly hearing that SD is a thing of the past and i should be buying HD.

2nd hand is definitely an option, but i've only had luck finding NTSC equipment.

So my question is, what camera would you recommend that suites my budget and filming prospects? (Mostly outdoor skatepark, street stuff)

Here's a recent HD bmx video for those of you who have no idea about the culture..
