Help! Marshall Viewfinder Hood on Marshall MD Series Monitor-doesn't stop glare

Hi All,

Haven't been on dvxuser for a while but having a problem that I'm hoping will get a quick answer.

I recently bought a hood to go with my Marshall on camera MD Series 5.6" monitor. Attached it, took my camera out in the sun and, lo and behold, I'm staring at a reflection of my face. I tried everything -- tilting the monitor away from the son - putting on my baseball cap to shield the sun - but impossible to get anything close to a picture I could work with or a reflection of at least some of my face on the monitor.

What gives? Am I missing an easy fix?

Please advise everybody.

Thanks, cathy

This is the reality of most mass produced LCD monitors. The all have glossy screens. Even SmallHD can't offer non-reflective screens because the cost would be too high to do smaller runs. To see better outside means a brighter screen, something at least 1000 nts.

Why don't you try covering the screen with some matte screen protector material, should be something like that for the iPad on Amazon you could trim to fit.

Or maybe something like this?
