Help! Low Virtual Memory...

Here's my situation: My IBM laptop was running fine until a day ago, when, upon startup, a warning popped up saying my paging file was too small and that i was low on virtual memory. i tried enlarging it, then restarting, but with out success. Then Premiere 2.0 stopped opening, saying there was some sort of critical error. I uninstalled Premiere, tried re-installing, but it won't reinstall - Runtime Error.
What do I do? I think this all because of my low virtual memory. Any suggestions?
Please help! I need to get back to work! Thanks.

How much free space do you have on your system disk? What are your initial and max pagefile settings?

Out of 70 gigs, I have only 9 remaining...my inituial and max. pagin file sizes were 765 and 1350...I tried changing them, but Windows did not seem to recognize it...is it possible that my hard drive is too full for the computer to operate properly?
