help lighting a chroma set

Hello,
I am trying to get some advice on which lights might help our situation at a video production studio in NJ. We are looking to buy the proper lights for our situation. Any help or guidance at all, even small, is appreciated. We mostly do music videos and live music performances, although we also do some news/talk type shoots.

As you can see in the pictures, we have a set that is painted chroma-blue on 3 walls and the floor. The set is 24' wide, 10' high, and 10.5' deep (front to back).

We are having some problems with our current lighting setup. We are basically using theatre/consumer lighting right now and need help finding the proper tools.

To light the chroma walls, we have (8) 4-bulb 5600k fluorescents with #216 diffusion hanging straight down on chains. As you can see this is giving us hot spots on the upper portions of the walls. We tried raising the lights (they're up as high as they can go now, it helped a bit), and we tried angling the lights in towards the wall (which made the hot spots hotter). We are unable to remove just one bulb from those fixtures without another bulb also losing power - we tried to eliminate one bulb so as to help with the hotspots.

Also, as we don't yet have a curved CYC wall at the bottom, we have a dark spot where the wall meets the floor (I realize this might be unavoidable without a CYC).

Additional lights we have - 6 very old theatre fresnels with #250 diffusion. They are 10' and 10' out from the front edge of the set. This is for lighting the talent.

And one more thing - we'd like to get a couple lights on stands for keylighting on both sides of the camera. Something not too complicated - maybe a 3 or 4 light kit that we could also use in the field. I'd imagine some soft light would be best for our chroma set but I am not sure.
I have looked at kits for sale, but I am unsure of the amount of wattage I need for this space.

Also we have standard power 120v power jacks here.

We shoot on P2 cards with Panasonic HPX170 cameras.

So here are the issues we'd like to solve:
- Hot spots on the upper walls
- Darkness at the bottom of the walls
- Glare on the floor
- We might need all new lights to properly light the chroma set.
- A redness often appears in the talent's skin when shot on the set.
- If we get new lights that angle in towards the wall, instead of facing straight down, i imagine we might also need some new backlighting, as the lights hanging straight down also act as backlight.

Also a lighting kit suggestion - that will work on the chroma set and in the field, for mostly music videos.

Get the lights farther away from the screen -- as in, forward, not up.

Put similar lights along the bottom.

Light your subjects entirely separately -- don't try to use the lights for the screen as lights on your subjects.

Get your subjects farther away from the screen; you're going to fill them with blue cast-off and make it very hard to get a clean key.

thanks so much for the help - i can move them back and will try that. However - you mentioned putting similar lights on the floor - but we plan to do full body chroma shoots - so you would see the lights in the shot (in lieu of a cyc pit or something like that).

You're going to have to light the dark part of the wall somehow; using the same fixtures would give you the most even lighting.

However, some banks of fluos (like Kinos) mounted low and off to the sides may help -- the problem being that the area is so wide. You'll most likely have to have something in the middle.

What if you put a riser in for the band and lit the wall behind it from the bottom. That way you would still have even lighting, but the lights would be hidden behind the riser.
