help - keylight - noise in soft

AE keylight question. I have covered Lynda's tutorials on AE-keylight
as well as Andre Kramer Video co-pilot tutorial. I'm still stumped.

Does anyone know what this is and how to stop it?
It appears in the girls hair and it gives the appearance of noise in the alpha channel
I've set up a web page with examples here

Thanks in advance

It looks like you might have holes in your matte

You can check the different views to see you have a solid matte in that area. Status view is a good one to check. Watch it in motion and see if the "holes" correlate with the "noise"

As suggested above, multiple mattes are usually the way to go, since different areas have different requirements for the keying

Are you converting to an uncompressed format when you are keying? That will help.
Using the matte tools you can blur the detail in the hair area of the alpha channel to minimize the aliasing.

The 7D is not ideal for green screen work, the compression creates problems with fine detail.

You don't need a camera with shallow DOF for green screen work, you actually want your green screen in focus so you can easily identify your tracking markers.

Next time, perhaps an HV-20 or similar camera with HDMI out to a BM Intensity card would be a better solution. It's uncompressed, cheap, and gives great results.

Thanks for all the help guys, especially for the training vid link.
The macro blocking is killing me. I'll live and learn and maybe borrow and hv30 next time
