Help Installing Wide Angle Lens

ok i just rented this camera from my university media lab, its the panazonic dvx100a, and it came with pro div .7x wide angle convertion lens, and i cant figure out how to put it on!! please help! it didnt come with a manual and the guy at the desk had no idea!!
 
do u mean that hunk of plastic that makes a square around the lens? sorry im so not camera word smart... but yea if thats what ur talking about then yea i did
 
yea that's what i'm talkin about...does the .7x not just have threads that match the inside of the dvx's lens?
 
oh geez haha there is but i couldnt figure out why the lens wasnt going all the way down to meet the threads, but since u drew my attention to that part i realized that there was a piece of glass covering it i needed to remove...thanks for your help!! really appreciated!!
 
yea, just take your time and screw it on carefully - don't wanna crossthread it

and take off the UV filter first so you don't end up getting it cranked on there too hard under the .7x
