Help Importing HD Footage

I have some important footage that I recently shot in Hi Def, 720 24p. I'm having problems getting it into FCP. I'm not seeing a setup option for HDV 24p, what can I do? I'm not new to FCP, or filming, but this is the first time i've filmed in Hi Def and i'm at a loss. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

Not sure if this is helpful, but I just imported HD (though from an HVX) into FCP 5.0.4 for the first time and didn't see 720p24pn options, turned out that I didn't have the proper codecs installed. After a software update everything was ok.

What version of FCP are you using? What are you using as your HDV deck? Just out of curiousity, is this from the new JVC camera?

As for the specific 24p option, I'm not sure such a preset exists for HDV. I think you might have to bring it in as 60i. I've not used HDV 24p but I believe the 23.98 footage can play out correctly as 59.94.

cheers.

it's the jvc gy110. i'm using that as the deck as none of my decks are compatible with hi def at the moment.

after import, the audio plays back fine, but the video plays back at double speed and doesn't match up to the audio at all.

bringing it in at 60I produces the "high speed" playback as well. it look like the footage was very sped up.

if ther's no preset for this, what do i have to do to make it work and look right?

any one else? i can't for the life of me get this footage in. i have tried every preset, codec, etc. and every combination imaginable.
