Help identifying tripod head (PICS)

I got a tripod today, it is very big and heavy and works great. It has a fluid head that's super smooth. The head is made of aluminium I think, it is very sturdy.

The screw for the base plate is a little more big than normal tripod for my DVX100.
My guess is that this is a an old Cinema tripod for heavy 35mm cameras.

The legs are QuickSet brand, made in USA, and the head says "Universal" and has some numbers and says "made in australia".

I got this for $50. If somebody has any knowledge on tripod heads please let me know some info about it.

The "Made in Australia" tipped me off. It's a Miller Universal head. VisualProducts actually has one for sale with 100mm sticks - http://www.visualproducts.com/storeProductDetail02.asp?productID=409&Cat=48&Cat2=49

The thread on it is 3/8"x16. It's a common thread, found on a lot of quick release plates. So, you could quickly add on a Manfrotto Quick Release, screw it in with the very secure 3/8" screw from the tripod, and have a 1/4" screw going through the plate into your camera.

The QuickSet tripod legs are probably much newer than the head. I've used QuickSet heads before, and they were usable for the job, but not fancy. I'm sure these sticks fall in the same category.

Best of luck with your purchase!

Thank you!
I guess I got a pretty good deal for 50 bucks. It is all working no flaws.
I'm gonna made a custom plate for it, I didn't found the manfrotto plate you said.

I got it in an auction house.

Thank you again!

For the Manfrotto Quick Release, Any one of these will work:

(for small cameras)

http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/554151-REG/Manfrotto_357_357_Pro_Quick_Release.html
(an industry standard, reasonably priced, and holds a bunch of weight)

http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/241139-REG/Manfrotto_577_577_Rapid_Connect_Adapter.html
(which works with Manfrotto's 501 and 503 tripod series)

I actually use this: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/318567-REG/Giottos_MH621_M621_Quick_Release_Assembly.html which is a bit cheaper, of a similar design, and works quite well.

Really, anything that accepts a 3/8" bolt, and has a plate on it that can use a 1/4" bolt will work. I'm sure you'll figure out what works for you though!
