I have typically edited SD footage. I have a dual monitor set-up, but I have always viewed footage on an external monitor via firewire. (a/v settings>Video Playback>Apple Firewire NTSC)
Once I started working with HD I changed my A/V settings to view the footage on my second monitor (a/v settings>Video Playback>Digital Cinema Desktop Preview)
Having some challenges today I hit Digital Cinema Desktop Preview-Main instead. THe footage was playing on the main monitor, but I didn't know how to get to my workspace, so I hit esc, which did the trick. But now I can't get playback in HD on the second monitor, or even the old way in SD through firwire (And i tried log and capture, so I know the FW connection is good)
It still plays back in the canvas, but that's it.
What did I do and how do I fix it?
