Hi ...I'm on location in the UK from LA & need help. Has anyone experienced a beeping sound whilst recording to the P2 cards? (16gig cards) Firmware is fully up to date & it was working perfectly for the last few weeks.
It happens a little quicker than one beep per second, is slightly louder in ch2 than ch1. It happens approx twice as fast when recording at 1080 as compared to 720. (I started my project at 720/30pn) The rate of beep is the same at 480.
These are the things I have tried to trouble shoot/cure this situation ... to no avail.
Tried a variety of recording rates & F settings
Used the P2 cards in both slots ..... the second (lower) slot has the beeps slightly quieter.
Formatted the cards.
The beeps are audible after transfer to the computer.
I tried external mics with phantom, external connection to a 442 mixer, internal mics & turned the mic gain up & down. Phantom off.
I changed out the battery & used the external supply.
I tapped on it, turned it upsidedown.
Recorded with the screen door open & closed (I noticed an electronic click upon the screen switching on & off)
I then pushed the reset button ...... still beeping.
Finally I recorded on to tape ..... voila no beeping.
So I'm not completely sunk ...... I just really didn't want to record on tape, that's why I bought an HVX.
Please help, I resume shooting on Monday.
Thanks, Mat
