HELP: getting the '24' zoom split screen look

Hi,

I've only been using FCP for a short while and am very slowly learning to get to grips with it. There is one thing that I really want to be able to do but can't seem to work out how to do it. At the end of an episode of 24, the main picture zooms away and into the corner of the screen so that other images can fit.

I have worked out how to get the split screen and even how to do the zoom bit, but I cannot figure out how to move the picture into the corner as it is zooming out. If I try to position the smaller version, it moves the whole image so that when I view the whole clip, I only see a part of the larger image.

Any ideas on how I can achieve the effect? Any help or suggestions would be really appreciated.

Chris

You mean something like this? SORRY I DID THIS VERY FAST and my settings are wrong causing interlacing but you get the idea.

Ok for the first corner move I

1/ change scale : added keyframe at the start on the standard image size.... moved the timeline forward to a desired point in time then keyframed new image size.

2/ Went back to inpoint (first scale keyframe also in this case) and selected centre point and added keyframe. Then went to second (scale keyframe point in time) and repositioned to my desired place and then just added another keyframe.

the slide across was just another adjustment of centrepoint again using keyframes.
