Help fixing a bright spot

I taped a stand up show for a friend. One of the stage lights is shinnning extremely bright on her face, much like a spot. Her surroundings and body from mid-chest down are perfect. I been trying to darken/soften the bright spot by color correcting and just can't seem to get it right.
Any tips?

try the color correction keying to focus on the brightspot only.
u might wanna crop the bright part only so as not to affect other white colored area.

And i presume u are using either FCP or FCE ..

Expand the bottom ofthe 3-way color corrector. Set adjustment for top luminance so it will only affect the hot spot. Next reduce the white point lower so it will bring this area down (asuming it is the brightest thing in the frame.) Other option is to create 2 layers. use the 4 or 8 point garbage matte on top layer to fit spot and then darken as above.
