This coming January I'll be relocating to Oklahoma City, and I know absolutely no-one in that area. So what I've been doing is going through the list of production companies and producers at http://www.oklahomaproductionguide.com and emailing each person to make contact, and possibly seek employment. So far I've emailed about 20 people, but it doesn't seem like I'm making any headway.
I'll be attending school to finish my bachelor's degree, and would hopefully be working production jobs to pay rent. I'm not looking for 1st AD or Gaffer or anything like that, just simple PA or grip work. The problem, like I said before, is that I don't know anyone there.
Can anyone offer any advise as to what I need to do in order to maximize my chances of getting PA or grip work on a regular basis? I had a lot of luck in getting work where I currently live, and I'd like to not have to rely on getting lucky again to pay the bills on time. Thanks in advance.
