Help! Final Cut Pro to After Effects

I am a Final Cut Studio user. I am working in Final Cut Pro. I have a sequence in Final Cut Pro I would like to import to After Effects. How do I import a Final Cut Pro Sequence into After Effects? The only way I was able to get my footage into After Effects was making it an XML file then opening it up in Adobe Premiere Pro. I went into After Effects and imported the Adobe Premiere Project. My footage went into After Effects but on one track. So I went back to Adobe Premiere Pro and cut up all my footage on 12 tracks and reimported them as a project in After Effects. Now After Effects shows 12 tracks. Now how do I get my project out of After Effects back to Final Cut Studio or Adobe Premiere Pro to finish up some editing?

There are software solutions that will aid you. Try looking into Automatic Duck. But that will cost you money.

I've read that a lot of people are using Premiere to go between Final Cut and After Effects, but haven't seen anyone having the problems you had with everything coming in on one track. As for exporting, you'll probably have to go back to Premiere first. Try using the Export-Adobe Premiere Pro Project option.

What did you need to do in After Effects that required you to bring in an entire sequence? Most of the time people will export just the short clip they want to manipulate, do their After effects work on it, then render and replace the original with the rendered clip. Unless you absolutely need the entire sequence in there, then I'd recommend just working on a clip by clip basis.

Thanks for the reply. I am new to the After Effects. I think I got it to work actually. I took my sequence from Final Cut Pro and exported it as an XML file. Then opened it in Adobe Premiere Pro. After that I selected the clips I wanted to use for After Effects in my timeline, then I right clicked and hit "Replace With After Effects Composition" it opened in After Effects now both programs are synched up so I can edit in After Effects and the changes will go to Premiere Pro. I assume after I do the editing I want in After Effects I will export as an XML file to bring back into Final Cut Pro.
