HELP!! FCP 4 Unexpectedly Quits on Launch

Man, am I pissed off...I finally picked up a copy of FCP 4.0 for my computer at home & I installed everything & now I get a "Final Cut Pro has unexpectedly quit" error everytime I try to launch it. It goes through all of the startup, recognizes my drive, and then as soon as it gets to the part where its supposed to launch the windows, i get the error.

I tried deleting all of the preferences files, uninstalling, reinstalling, etc but to no avail. I deleted a version of 4.0 that I had borrowed from a friend before installing my own version--could this have anything to do with it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. It's incredibly frustrating that Apple doesn't seem to have any support #'s or anything that I can call without being charged for it.

Try creating a new admin user profile and running it. If it works you could have a corrupt profile preference somewhere. I'm assuming you've repaired your permissions and run normal system checks?

Got it working. Tried repairing permissions with "Cocktail" but that didn't help, so I did a complete uninstall of FCP, all related apps and files (see Apple's support page for uninstalling FCP), rebooted in Safe Boot mode, ran the disk utility, repaired permissions there, restarted, reinstalled & everything is fine now.

Good!! I knock wood everytime I see these types of posts!! Read about the horrors... well, better stop talking about that now.
