HELP- exporting for web

I am trying to post a music video that I shot with the dvx. It is obviously very high quality but when I load it onto video playback sites, the quality is terrible! on my friends server it is good though. I exported it on FCP 6 using quicktime conversion, broadband high, data rate automatic, quality dragged to best and h.264.

still, i get results like this

http://www.veoh.com/videos/v6819113mjh53MGt

http://blip.tv/file/817459

as opposed to

http://www.brokenrevolution.com/ramy/insleep2.mov

what am I doing wrong? can someone please help me and show me how to get high quality things on youtube and the like? i'm new to the dvx and working with it. this is my first project with it for my HS tv class, and we need it on youtube!

thanks a lot

you're not doing anything wrong... sites like Veoh and YouTube recompress the file that you give them. It looks worse because it has been heavily compressed a second time.

Yeah thats the way it goes. Seems they convert to flash or whatever so by the second compression its really bad. I use a frame size of 480x270 as a custom in compressor and try to cut the audio down to 32Khz. Mess around until you get a quality rez you like with the Kbps then upload that it wont look as bad as the 320x240 stuff.
