HELP! Export to tape problem

Afternoon Everyone,

I'm really stuck and I hope you can help.

I shot a short (5 min) on the DVX100b in 24p mode.

It was edited on Premiere Pro 1.5, but the output was jittery and the audio was cracking up.

Another DVXuser suggested I upgrade to Premiere Pro 2.0, as that would be able to handle 24p better.

I did upgrade to 2.0, opened the project and attempted to export. Video is fine by audio is still crackling.

Any suggestions on what's wrong? I'm really stuck as I have to submit it to several film festivals and I can't get out a clean copy.

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Regards,

Peter

Are you exporting to a miniDV or a file?

If its tape, are you running it through a deck or just the camera?

If it's a file, what type of compression are you using? I usually do quicktime (.mov), mpeg-4 compression and it looks real nice. If your exporting uncompressed, the files tend to be a little jittery (with audio cracks) when I play them too, but that's just because I have an old computer that can really handle uncompressed video (or even h.264 encoding)... As soon as I burn it to a DVD, its no problem.

Hi there.

I'm exporting it to the DVX100b (my deck is in the shop).

Any thoughts? It's hard to believe it's my system, as I've been exporting 30fps projects for years without a problem.

Thanks in advance for any advice you may have.

Anyone?

Anyone?

Hi again,

Does anyone have any thoughts on how I might solve this "jittery" problem?

I begining to think that it's a 24p issue. I can shoot, capture, edit and output fine at 30fps, but shoot 24 and it's jittery. I'm going to make a bold statement and say that 24p requires more processing power to output to tape then 30fps video.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Thanks.

Peter
