Hates to Rent
Hi Guys,

I have a bunch of .mov files that were endoded in DVCpro50 and need to import them into Vegas. I am running a PC.

Quciktime for windows won't play the video portion of the files, but the audio is OK. Vegas crashes when I try to import. Any opinions?

Download the DVCPRO 50 codec from Matrox. I know the link is posted on the site here somewhere -- do a search -- or just Google "DVCPRO 50 codec Matrox download."

I did that and Vista takes a dump when I try to install the codec....which is a whole 'nother problem, I guess.

Thanks anyways David.

David, is there a way to manually install the codec? It seems the registry editor included in the codec .exe is causing the problem when I install the Matrox product.

I had the same problem trying to load the driver into my xp64 os, what I did was unzip the file on my xp32bit machine and then i took the unzipped files across and loaded it.

right click on the exe unzip to...then load the _instpgm.exe file, that should do it.
I then just right clicked on the .dll files and clicked register DLL, not sure if you have to do that but i did and it works.

hope this helps
