Help color correcting

Hi everyone,

I did a shoot last week and I am trying to get this video done by this week.

The things is, I am not really good at post-processing, I already have my timeline almost done, but don't know very much what to do in color correcting or get the image with a really nice look.

I tried magic bullet but I think it adds to much artifacts and I lose details.

Would you help me in testing and tell me a nice workflow in after effects to get this image really nice?

It can be in black and white or bleach bypass or anything to get a really interesting look.

If it help, I am using "Beautiful Boyz" by Cocorosie as the soundtrack. It is a couple dancing contemporary dance with fusion of fashion.

Here is the image:

Thanks in advance.

I think the approach you're considering is not where you need to start. If you're color "correcting" for the sake of making it interesting, it forces the video to rely on the effects rather than the shot. Please don't take that as an insult to your intention, it just sounds like you're looking for a solution to a problem you don't really know. Now, I don't think your shot is bad at all - personally I'd have done it with a longer lens for some depth, but I can spot one thing I dislike about the image that could use "correcting.

The dark lighting on the edges, which may partially be vignetting, but I'm guessing it's simply uneven lighting, can be alleviated with magic bullet to my knowledge. As for style, you have blacks and whites here, along with those strong shadows being cast (I like it!), so going for a pure black and white noir look could perhaps work? I'm guessing your focus is on the woman, so here's my attempt (In Photoshop): It can be replicated with MB's spot exposure.

I turned it black and white, darkened it, increased contrast, and added a slight warm tint to it (not quite as deep as a sepia, but essentially the same hue). Forgive me if it's not what you're looking for!

Thanks RX

Non insult taken at all...

Thanks for taking the time and replying. I am very happy with the results. I just wanted to get out the warm look I am getting straight from the camera. Also, I was thinking in a black and white, kinda contrasty without losing too much editorial.

The shadows where done on purpose, as well de vignetting-like corners of the image, done with lighting.

This is what I have so far:
