Hello all, this is my first post. I must say I am very impressed with the amazing questions and feedback I see on this board. I have a question, and please forgive if it seems a bit repetitive, but I need help deciding on a decent stabilizing system for my DVX100A. I have read many posts here and am still undecided. I am looking to spend between $300-500 for a decent unit. The problem is I can't decide on a shoulder rest unit, a free standing with strap unit, a fig ring, etc. I'm am too terribly concerned with brand names, just the way the unit is made and it's benefits. Could I get some opinions on these various types of stabilizers. I have done my homework, but still unsatisfied with the results of my findings.

Thank you,
AE

Welcome to DVXUser, and congrats on your first post. Here are a couple of links to discussions already in progress that I think answer your question.

Also, you can always do what I've done in the past. PM Pookie. He's the steadicam master. I give this advice with the warning that he is so closed minded in helping a brotha out with interest bearing loans.
Thank you Yankee for taking the time to dig up the links to those posts. I have had the pleasure of reading those posts and they are very informative, yet I was still undecided after reading them. I thank you and will continue to research the equipment posted in those threads....

PM Pookie. Tell him what you are shooting and what your price range is...

They don't call him the Steadi Master for nothing... Or maybe it is for nothing or the fact that he calls himself that, or... this could go on for a while.
