HELP..CHEAP mini dv camera as a vcr deck

Hey guys...my canon zr40 just passed away a couple days ago and I need a new cheap mini dv cam to use as a vcr deck...I refuse to use my dvx as a deck..but am in a situation where i need a replacement asap or i will have to use my dvx. So if anyone knows of a cheap cam to use as a deck with an LANC input for around 200-300 $....that would help me greatly....I'm hoping for something just like my old zr40

thanks

Any 1 chip cam will do. I have an inexpensive 1 chip panny. The batteries and charger are all interchangeable. To me that is handy. But, if you want something in the same line as the zr40...

If you want interchangeability... I think the GIVE ME A PRICE quote is $339.00.. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/con...705&is=REG&addedTroughType=categoryNavigation
And if you want ultra cheap... http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/con...739&is=REG&addedTroughType=categoryNavigation

Any one of these will do...

I know I'm in the minority here, but I usually use my DVX for capture. If not the DVX, then I use my trusty GL-1. I had bad experiences with cheaper cams eating my tapes when using them as playback decks.

That said, I like Rick's suggestion of a Panny unit where the batts and charger would be compatible.
