Hi guys,

Quick question, what is the difference between these two adapters? I don't understand what "uses 2 lenses means"

Important question: Would either of these two lenses fit a Sony HVR-Z1P? Obviously they will mount on the camera lens as they are a standard 72mm thread, however would I need to attach any further adapters?

Thanks,
Will

I don't either. The posting as a whole makes no sense to begin with and it's obvious that English isn't the seller's first language. I wouldn't buy this unit since you're screwed if you need any kind of tech support.

Danger! Steer clear.

That doesn't look like anything from any of the more reputable DOF adapter makers, Honestly, it looks like a telescope part. I have something that looks like that, which goes between the eyepiece and the focuser.

I think the last two words of the posting "Good Luck" say it all.

On a side note: you get what you pay for in DOF adapters. Assuming there was such a beast as a $230 adapter, you'll spend many times more than that on rails, follow focus etc.

I'd be very careful buying something like that. As Bobonli said above me, with cam gear you usually get what you pay for. I'd much rather purchase a 35mm adapter from a larger company that has a solid user base, with great customer support and a quality product and pay two, three, four times as much as the price you've got listed there in that eBay link than save money and have it break on the first day, or not work at all.

There are images of this adapter opened up here (http://hv20.com/showthread.php?t=24353)

It is an actual vibrating adapter and not a telescope part. I can't speak for it's quality however, but it's construction looks decent compared to others in it's price range. I believe there are some auctions up that include the rails for around the same price as well. I do agree that the cliche "you get what you pay for" is generally true (however I also believe the big names also take advantage on pricing sometimes). None the less research is key and there really isn't a lot of information on this adapter that I know of outside of the two links I posted and the website linked to the ebay auction(bad site). So I would say this particular adapter is risky...there are others in the price range like the Jag35 (jag35.com) which has a good size customer base and sample footage from owners are of the jag are posted on Vimeo...in the end I would not expect adapters in this range to compare to high end adapters, but I have seen some great things produced with mid-ranged adapters that rival some of the things I have seen from the Letus, Brevis, M2, etc. Keep in mind the person behind the camera counts just as much if not more than the equipment itself. My thoughts anyway :)

You find a way to buy a DOF that actually works and is inexpensive, let me know right away.

Scammers do their research, high dollar-low risk. Without even opening the pages you listed, I can tell you beware!

But I am calling "scam" on this one. Sorry. You pay for what you get.
