I use Version CS3 and i am getting the old can't activate recorder. try resetting camera. I can control the camera using the controls, but i just can't record or view the video on the pc. Any advice would be appreciated.

Help! Can't Capture CS3

i capture using a Canon ZR100 all footage was shot on a dvx100b 24p adv.
today i went through my codecs and made sure i only had the windows defaults. the IEEE 1394 device is configured and working properly. tomorrow i'm going to try a system restore and check to make sure that my base DV Video Encoder/Decoder is registered. here is another thing when i first installed it, it worked perfectly but now this happens.

what are the odds that it is the cable or that i fried the firewire port? i mean i can still hit play,pause, stop, ect. i just can't capture.
