Law No. 6415 on Prevention of Financing of Terrorism
Terrorist financing crime
ARTICLE 4 – (1) In the realization of the acts regulated as a crime within the scope of Article 3
with a certain act for the purpose of being used wholly or partially, or knowingly and willingly that it will be used.
A person who provides or collects funds for a terrorist or terrorist organizations even without being associated
if it does not constitute another criminal offense, it is punished with imprisonment from five to ten years.
Turkish Penal Code No. 5237
Article 228 - Providing a place and opportunity for gambling
(1) The person who provides a place and opportunity for gambling is punished with imprisonment from one year to three years and a judicial fine of not less than two hundred days.
(2) If a place and opportunity is provided for children to gamble, the penalty to be imposed is increased by one fold.
(3) If the crime is committed through the use of information systems, a penalty of imprisonment from three years to five years and a judicial fine from one thousand days to ten thousand days is imposed.
(4) If the crime is committed within the framework of the activity of an organization, the penalty to be imposed is increased by half.
(5) Due to this crime, security measures specific to legal persons are imposed on them.
(6) In the application of the Criminal Code, gambling is games that are performed for the purpose of gain and in which profit and loss depend on luck.
Law No. 7258 on Arranging Betting and Games of Chance in Football and Other Sports Competitions
Article 5 – (Amended: 12/7/2013-6495/3 art.)
Without being authorized by law;
a) Those who play fixed odds and common betting or chance games based on sports competitions, or who provide a place or opportunity to be played, are sentenced to imprisonment from three years to five years and a judicial fine up to ten thousand days.
b) Persons who enable fixed odds or joint betting or games of chance based on sports competitions played abroad to be played from Turkey through internet or other means, are sentenced to imprisonment from four years to six years.
c) Persons who mediate money transfer in connection with fixed odds or joint betting or games of chance based on sports competitions are sentenced to imprisonment from three years to five years and a judicial fine up to five thousand days.
ç) Those who encourage people to advertise or otherwise play fixed odds or joint betting or games of chance based on sports competitions are sentenced to imprisonment from one year to three years and a judicial fine up to three thousand days.
d) Those who play fixed odds or joint betting or games of chance based on sports competitions are punished with an administrative fine from five thousand to twenty thousand lira by the highest local authority.
Misdemeanors Law No. 5326
Article 34 - (1) An administrative fine of one thousand Turkish Liras is imposed on the person who gambles. In addition, it is decided to transfer the property to the public by confiscating the income from gambling.
