Hi everyone,

Good to find such a useful friendly forum, with a surprising amount non-embittered filmakers! I'm basically a rank amateur looking to put my first doc together and have a load of questions, any help would be gratefully appreciated.

firstly I use a Sony Z1, (i hope that doesn't immediately alienate me..)

1. Although probably unnecessary I would love to shoot it using an M2 or SGpro adapter with a few lenses (seeing the results on youtube just look amazing) But seeing as a lot of the time I will just be following one of three contributors largely handheld and I'll be alone, without lighting, will this be a nightmare..? I don't won't to have to constantly be changing lenses.. Is it easy to track focus without the camera wobbling? I will probably use a spider brace for support..

2. Do the cameras internal features become redundant when the adapter is on.. i.e. can you use peaking to pick up the focus on the tiny screen. what frame rate should you set the camera to?

3. what do you guys (experienced doc makers) think of the cineframe and cinematone features on the Z1? - If I filmed the whole thing in cineframe (rather than added expense and hassle of adapter) would I lose clarity in the edit? In fact is the cineframe feature any different from just dropping the frame rate down a notch on the camera from 50-25frm (using PAL version)..

I'll leave it at that for now...

cheers
