Ok first off I have no idea where to post this, there are things every on this forum half of the stuff I don't understand.

I'm basically intrested in film I have been for a while i'm not taking any sort of film school or anything like that and just want to get a bit more professional do some real videos.

I don't have much money but I figure not to let it stop and just go with what I have so, yeah all I have atm is a crappy mindv Cannon MV930 very basic not even room for an external mike to be pluged in, and i'm here for some guidence.

I need to be pointed in the right direction i'm using adobe premiere right now and not really that good with it, sure I can cut and layer and blah blah all that but nothing that good.

If you want to see a few videos i've done go to my youtube profile.

Check out the latest one i've done and the Park Ranger one.

unfortunetly I tried shooting the halloween one and had a go at lighting but I failed I only had a basic bedroom lamp, and there are shadows all over the place, then I had a go at chase video thats the park ranger, which I think was probably my best just my best nothign amazing but the best i've done.

And after about 1 year of filming I need some guidence i'm at the point where i'm not getting any better or worse and now just need a big boost and learn a bit, sorry about the length of this thread i'm sorry if you can't read through it all, I know I wouldn't be able to, so yeah any replies i'll be gratefull try keep it understandable to a noob if possible and I have a bad attention span not lazy just something with me so please keep as short as possible.

First, you need real lights to get professional results. They don't have to be expensive, but some scoop lights from a hardware store would be an improvement.

My advice is see if you can get on as a PA on some bigger projects and watch what they do. (Don't bug the DP or lighting guys with lots of questions. They are busy people. Watch and learn.) Watch DVD extras with good behind the scenes footage and study how they light scenes.

Finally, you say you have an attention problem. Filmmaking is time consuming and requires attention to detail, so you need to learn to focus and work on your concentration. On pro shoots, most first shots take a minimum of 45 minutes to set up if you're doing any lighting. I've spent up to four hours on some lighting set-ups before shooting a frame.

Watched your "scream" short and thought it had some fun stuff in it. Get some lights and play around with them. You'll get better.

Some good ideas there, i'm not sure whats going on in my area filming wise i could always check around to see if there anyway work experiance type thing going.

And yeah don't worry when it comes to filming and things like that my attention problem is fine it's just when i'm sitting reading things.

btw can you buy portable lights ? with battery power I mean for some of the ot side shouts, I couldn't get a plugable light there.

Hey-

Why don't you hop over to filmfights.com and check us out? Its a real cool way to meet young filmmakers like yourself. Every 10 days you are given a title and a genre and you get to make a film and battle other filmmakers like yourself. If you get into the forums, my username is C-41 Productions.

Check it out.

Go to Los Angeles and live and work for 3 months. Hit up mandy.com and grip on whatever, whenever you can even though you won't get paid. Being "interested in film" is a fairly broad scope. You need to throw yourself out there full steam 14 hour days and no pay. then you will begin to find out what part you are interested in. Sounds like your in a void. Get out of the void!
