HELP>>>>>1394 and HVX in XP

I have shot some sd footage to tape with my HVX, and wish to capture it via fw into Vegas....but neither Vegas nor XP will see my camera??

ANy help out there?:crybaby:
 
If XP doesn't recognize it then Vegas probably won't either. If you connect the 1394 correctly, as soon as you turn on the camera it should pop up in Vegas.

...but incase go to options then preferences in vegas then select preview device and select the OHCI IEEE 1394 option. Or just do the old fashion way reboot your computer and see if it works.
 
Menu settings don't matter. If it's in VCR mode (NOT dub mode) and the media switch is in "tape" mode, then it should show up on the desktop.

If it isn't, try a different firewire port or a different cable.
 
tried em both, on 2 machines that "ding" when I plug in my DVX......what in tarnation is a goin on here?
 
Panasonic told me today that the TI 1394 driver will not work with this camera, and to try a MS DV driver...which I did and it does not help at all....
This sucks.
