HELP!  Need location in NYC

I have a band coming down from Maine on Sunday and my "sure thing" location just pulled out. Ugh!

Does anyone know of a studio or industrial/urban decay type place that can be rented for under $300 in NY (NYC, Brooklyn, Bronx).

I'm looking around (craigslist etc) but am not finding anything too great. Wish I had time to ask someone who has access to a loading doc or something like that.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated...

Kevin

Give a call to...hmm...

Try out galapagos maybe? I don't know what they'd rent it to you in the morning, but last time I was there it was pretty industrial.

I was on the short list for sound mixers there, but they kept changing management so fast, I never got in before I moved. It might not be in your price range, but it is a music space/bar with a very cool bar and a very lackluster music space.

South 5th, 350/day for a photographic studio (very white)

My advice, if you're looking for a bare space, is to put an ad on craigslist under commercial space and under housing wanted. Chances are you might be able to find a vacant loft in greenpoint or a vacant industrial or store space somewhere in brooklyn. An enterprising owner might rent such a space to you for $200-300.

Sorry I can't be more help, but I'm not local anymore.

Try New Jersey, its close to New York and in Jersey City and Hoboken being so close, and all the old factorys and buildings you should find something. Perhaps even on Staten Island. But your best bet is to find an abandoned place, see if it has a hole in the fence, and let yourelf in.
