Hello! Introducing myself

Hello all! I am new here so I figured I'd introduce myself.

I'm Alex, and I've just recently started work as a Web developer/Video Producer for an environmental consulting firm in Fredericksburg, Va.

Prior to that, I was a journalist for about 20 years, working as the Multimedia Editor for my local newspaper's Web site, fredericksburg.com.

I have many years of experience in FCP, and have recently made the move over to Premiere Pro. I'll be taking a class in April to become an Adobe-Certified Expert in Premiere.

I've recently acquired a TriCaster Mini and will be producing live events for my new employer.

Other than that, I'm a kayaker, outdoorsman, EMT, music-festival enthusiast, beer aficionado, and all-around hippy-geek. That's about it.

I look forward to gaining knowledge from the DVXuser community, as well as contributing wherever I can be helpful.

Welcome Areku. Nice to have you on board.

Do you have any equipment? What is the camera you shoot with or what are you planning to buy?

See you on the forums!

Thanks for the welcome! I was using mostly Canon gear at my old job. A couple of XHA1s and an XF300. Occasionally, I'd shoot with my GoPro or a Nikon d300s. For location shoots, a Lowel Omni kit and pop-up travel chroma screen. FCP Studio 6.

At my new job, we're using a handful of cheap, consumer-level HDMI cameras feeding into a Tricaster mini for live streaming, and some LED cans for scene lighting.

I would like to buy a Canon XA20 or maybe an XF100 to replace our cheap cams.
