Hello from Hollywood

Thank you for letting me join the forum. My name is Valentina Ievleva (call me Val, no one can't spell and pronounce the real thing anyway, even former teachers).
I live now in LA and run creative software engineering house to serve studio needs.

Since I moved, I am constantly amazed how media business remains advanced and stone-age at the same time.
On this forum I hope to meet people dealing with common pain points in post-prod and willing to talk about it. In return myself and my team can advice on math and tech. aspects of algorithms used in video and audio software engineering, transcoding and other "fun" stuff. Hopefully we will be useful to each other
Merci

Welcome to the forum Val and I had two happy times IN LA 1982 and 1986 filming a music show called The Tube for channel 4 in the UK.

Stayed in the Chateau Marmont and Le Mondrian and had some great burgers from a railway carriage on Sunset and spent many a night in Barneys Beanery.

Happy days and we interviewed lots of people in various venues including the late Ray Manzarek in the Whiskey and The Bangs who then became The Bangles.

Thank you, Gary! It is nice to meet you. Sounds like you have a great time in LA and from what I see, not much has changed - still full of buzz and keeps its special vibe despite movies mostly being shot overseas now. I keep bumping into people reading scripts on the street and folks talking about VFX in little cafes.
Barneys is still here, walking distance from my home :)
