Hey all, just wanted to say thanks for the good info on this forum - I've been spending a lot of the past few weeks lurking and learning.

I've spent the past several years of my professional career on the video team at GameSpot.com - where I wore a ton of different hats there, but my proudest work was on the series Lost Between Levels - a long form documentary style program about the culture surrounding game development communities.

I have since been *ahem* released to the workforce at large which is how I came to find this community. I found myself in the position of needing to build up some gear at home. With so much great gear at my disposal from my day job, I never had much need to build up a kit at home beyond a couple of GoPros. I started researching the best bang I could get on a budget, and started building a setup around a 60d. Lots of advice I sought out kept me coming back to here, and it seems like the info has been generally quite good.

Beyond that, I've been working on building some of my own video gear. I've bade a timelapse panning controller for GoPro cameras using Arduino, and am currently testing a few LED panels I've made out of those cheap LED strips - I'll post my findings on those when I have better data.

Cheers,
