Hello dvx community!

My name is Brandon, and I'm very excited to now be part of the dvx community. Film and photography have always been passions of mine. As the quality of digital video increased and the prices dropped I finally broke down bought my first dslr with hd video capabilities. That was several years ago, and little did I know I would become completely obsessed.

In the beginning the stunning image quality and shallow depth of field were enough to keep me happy. However, I soon become eager to do more. I wanted to make movies. Some of my favorite directors are Jean-Pierre Jeunet, Terrence Malick and Michel Gondry… to name a few. I decided I also would make movies.

It’s isn’t until you attempt to make a film yourself that you realize just how important the people whose names roll in the credits really are. The process of making a film is the most collaborative thing I have ever been a part of… and I love it. There is still a great deal of learning ahead of me, but I can’t think of anything else I would rather be doing.

A little over a year ago I joined a small digital film program in San Francisco. During the process I’ve made a handful of short films no longer than 5 minutes in length. I’m at the point of making my final thesis film, and as the project develops I plan to share the journey with all of you.

If you are still reading this… Thank you! I’ve included a few links of my favorite past short films, and would love your feedback.
