Heinz commercial contest

Well, I guess $57K is a lot less than they'd have to pay an ad agency to produce a commercial...:)

True. However, I wouldn't be surprised if their ad agency created the idea for the contest and all the supporting graphics, website, presentations, etc.

Jeeze Terry, why can't you just let me be cynical and snarky in peace, huh?

okay so i just looked at some of these commercials on youtube and they are obscenely bad. is it normal for a contest like this to produce this many awful entries?

Thats because they are not from this site! But yeah, all of the send-em-ins seem to have a lot of really bad stuff.

I've been in a LOT of contests. And yes. They get off to a slow start but right within the last week or so they pick up immensely. With a prize this big I expect to seem some gret stuff near the end.

i am now officially looking for ideas. so far this is all i've come up with...

upon finishing a ketchup covered hamburger, i try to make my farts sound like the word heinz. after about 15 seconds, i abruptly stop. there is a surprised, embarrassed look on my face. i turn to the camera and say, "heinz goes good on everything. well almost everything." the shot fades as i hurry into the mens room.

what do you guys think? emmy?

57 grand is a drop in the bucket for a real shoot.

your average "motion picture quality" looking commercial, probably cost about $200,000 to make.

i think im gonna have to jump in on this one. this sounds like fun. i like spec spots.
