Yes, my problem is solved (see my post on page 1). I've been lent another drive and, after half a day of relinking and re-rendering, I was able to go back to work.
I've enclosed my project, the clips and the render files in a common folder and use Synchronize Pro every two days to copy that onto my backup drive. Plus : I make a daily copy of the FCP project that I name by the date and slip into a dedicated folder. This should prevent me from crying all the tears of my body again.
LaCie drives are known as good quality drives. The production society I work for has been buying one LaCie disk for every project they have produced for the last three years... and there's been no problem so far.
Until now. Unlucky me... :-/
