Heath Ledger Dead

I remember him getting chewed out on the set of the Patriot by one of the reenactors for using his ramrod to load his musket. (reenactors dont use ramrods for safety reasons). Ledger was like: I'm sorry, I'm sorry. Then someone clued this guy in that he (Ledger) was one of the actors not a reenactor. The guy is totally mortified and says to Ledger, I'm sorry man, I'm so sorry. Ledger was totally cool with it. Everyone in camp was laughing about that one for a few days.

Way too young. What a shame

"I only do this because I'm having fun. The day I stop having fun, I'll just walk away. I wasn't going to have fun doing a teen movie again.... I don't want to do this for the rest of my life....I don't want to spend the rest of my youth doing this in this industry. There's so much I want to discover."

This quote makes things sadder.

Yeah I was pretty shocked by this too, and I have never been shocked over a celebrity death. I think I/we are shocked because he didn't seem to be the drug taking type. Maybe we imagined him being a health nut who was at the prime of his life, then bam. Hard to explain, but yes.. may he R.I.P

I just watched the Batman: Dark Knight trailer again, and it felt so weird.

He was so young, I watched his early films and he was progressing into serious work..

It'll be chilling to see him in the video montage at the Oscars for all the actors that have passed away.

Man, that is horrible news. That is the second young actor to go in a very short period of time (Brad Renfro just died too).

He was definitly one of my favorite young actors. i though he had staying power and talent.

Too bad about Brad Renfro too. I liked him....

what's going to happen to joker though? He just looked so cool in this role, I think he was going to make the best joker ever. Now I'm pissed he won't do it again; because I honestly believe his performence in Dark Knight is going to make the film.

On January 22, 2008, Ledger was found dead in his fourth-floor apartment at 421 Broome Street in the SoHo neighborhood of New York City. He was found at 3:26 p.m. EST by a housekeeper and a massage therapist, who entered the bedroom to find him face down and unconscious at the foot of his bed with sleeping pills on a nearby night table. Police said that they also found prescription medication in the bathroom and that there were "no obvious signs" of suicide, nor did they suspect foul play.
An initial autopsy on January 23 proved inconclusive at determining Ledger's cause of death. The medical examiner's office stated it will take about 10 days to complete the investigation.
On January 23, 2008 (Australian time), Ledger's parents and sister—who learned of his death from a radio broadcast—appeared outside Ledger's mother's house in Applecross, a riverside Perth suburb, and read a short statement to the media:
We, [Heath's family], confirm the very tragic, untimely and accidental passing of our dearly loved son, brother and doting father of Matilda, who was found in a peaceful sleep in his New York apartment by his housekeeper at 3:30pm [New York Time]. We would like to thank our friends and everyone around the world for their kind wishes at this time. Heath has touched so many people on so many different levels during his short life, but few had the pleasure to truly know him. He was a down-to-earth, generous, kind-hearted, life-loving and unselfish individual who was an extreme inspiration to many. Please now respect our family's need to grieve and come to terms with our loss privately.
In reaction to his death, former partner Michelle Williams was reported as saying that she was "devastated" at the loss and had boarded a plane to New York City.
A friend of Ledger's, Helena Christensen, who was on her way to Heath's apartment when she learned of his death, paid a tribute "He was such a special and genuine person, so extraordinarily talented because he was so raw and honest with his feelings. He was so full of life, so electric. This is immensely sad."
Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd released a statement saying, "It was with great sadness that I have learned of the passing of Heath Ledger... It is tragic that we have lost one of our nation's finest actors in the prime of his life."

Am looking forward to seeing Dark Knight. I'll bet its going to be one of his best performances. I hate the idea of young talented people going too soon. He will be missed.

I find it irritating that the usual holier-than-thou pundit types have already spent nearly every moment since Ledger's death painting him as a hollowed-out self-destructive miserable famous and wealthy person who couldn't handle success and was destroyed "by Hollywood."

This, from people who are still quoting early - and withdrawn - descriptions of the scene, speculation from un-named "friends," and apparently don't understand that the presence of a pill bottle somewhere in the room is not a reliable indicator of suicide...

who cares about facts, getting reliable sources, and not jumping to conclusions? this is the media we're talking about. sensationalism is king.

“God hates the, tacky bucket of slime seasoned with womit known as Brokeback Mountain and he hates all persons having anything whatsoever to do with it,” the church writes on a flyer.

For some reason, that made me laugh.

wow.

It's hard for me to imagine someone this stupid.
