Heath Ledger Dead

yeah. cnn just edited that part out too. Too much information in the early going, with news coming from everywhere. They don't even know whose apartment it is. No telling what else might be innacurate/fabricated/lost in translation, etc, etc.

Later,
Jason

I just heard the news. Whatever the details end up being, it's sad and a shame. My condolences to his family.

TMZ is reporting he had pnemonia when he died and that the family is insisting the death was accidental.

Wow. Like others, this is hitting me harder than most celebrity deaths. He had talent.

This is one of more shockink celebrity deaths that have hit me. I liked his work

Life is so fleeting. Go tell the one you love how much they mean to you right now.

Sad news.

Considering that they weren't there and that they wouldn't want anyone thinking ill about him I think we can take that statement with a large amount of salt.

It doesn't really matter, I won't judge him until the facts come out.

It's just sad that he's dead.

this is hitting me pretty hard too, and i can't explain why. the guy had talent. no doubt about it. i feel sorry for his daughter...

and i know this is going to sound harsh, but i can't quite believe this. part of me believes its some kind of viral marketing campaign for the Dark Knight... i know... i know. don't everyone beat into me at the same time.

this one's hitting me hard as well. I think it's the loss of potential that his life had.

Or as my buddy put it:

"why is it that the heath ledgers and chris farleys of the world overdose and the courntey loves and amy winehouses live forever"

Or as notorious cranky bastard Harlan Ellison said, "Why is it JFK and John Lennon and not Richard Nixon and Paul McCartney?"

This is sad. I was notified by a text from my friend. We are all getting together and morning his loss by watching "10 Things I hate about You" tonight.

Rest in Peace mate.

From a New York Times article, two months ago:

New York Times said:
“I stressed out a little too much,” Mr. Ledger said.

He tends to do that. He is here in London filming the latest episode of the “Batman”franchise, “The Dark Knight.” (Mr. Bale, as it happens, plays Batman; Mr. Ledger plays the Joker.) It is a physically and mentally draining role — his Joker is a “psychopathic, mass-murdering, schizophrenic clown with zero empathy” he said cheerfully — and, as often happens when he throws himself into a part, he is not sleeping much.
“Last week I probably slept an average of two hours a night,” he said. “I couldn’t stop thinking. My body was exhausted, and my mind was still going.” One night he took an Ambien, which failed to work. He took a second one and fell into a stupor, only to wake up an hour later, his mind still racing.

Even as he spoke, Mr. Ledger was hard-pressed to keep still. He got up and poured more coffee. He stepped outside into the courtyard and smoked a cigarette. He shook his hair out from under its hood, put a rubber band around it, took out the rubber band, put on a hat, took off the hat, put the hood back up. He went outside and had another cigarette. Polite and charming, he nonetheless gave off the sense that the last thing he wanted to do was delve deep into himself for public consumption. “It can be a little distressing to have to overintellectualize yourself,” is how he put it, a little apologetically.

The more I hear about this on CNN the more I think it could be a bad mix of prescription pills and over the counter drugs. Possibly accidental.

Very sad either way.
