Hearing audio in one channel

As far as I know, my cam records audio to one channel. When I capture the video and audio, I have audio on one channel on the timeline.

I want my finished project to play on a TV's with two speakers (two channels). What is the best way to facilitate this within Vegas?

Right-click on the audio clip, go to "Channels," and choose the channel with the audio. "Left" is the upper channel.

No. It'll be two-speaker mono.

What kind of a camera do have that does this? Are you using an external mic?

That's about right, then. No way to make it stereo.

There might be a way -- don't know for sure with the HD200; don't remember with the HD100 -- to assign your microphone to both channel 1 and channel 2, giving you the same signal on both channels. But if there isn't, using only the left channel in Vegas is just as well.

But if you're able, assigning the same microphone to both channels allows you some options, like keeping the levels of each slightly different -- can be good insurance against clipping.

I clicked channels and "Both" were checked. Does this mean I'll get two channel mono? The timeline just shows one audio track, I was thinking it would show two tracks? I'll get two channels of sound even though the timeline only shows one track?

Also, when I right click and switch between left and right channels I notices the audio wave changes, as if it's representing different sounds. Am I right?
