Would you mind telling me where you got the cable and connector?

I got both from Markertek. The cable is a Canare L-2B2AT, a very thin twisted pair cable with drain wire. It's $.20/ft and comes in black and grey. The connector is a nickel/gold Rean NYS231G. It is $1.14. It also comes in black/gold (NYS231BG) and all nickel (NYS231.) I prefer the Switchcraft 35HD series of connectors more than the Reans, but they are more expensive ($4.11 vs $1.14.)
