Heading down to Orlando

I'm heading down to Orlando tomorrow morning. Going to visit Full Sail, do a tour and talk with an advisor etc...

the rest of the time. Fun in the sun. Go to a New Years Eve party. Can't wait to leave, and I already don't want to go home.
 
ya i know. my family knows too... but its probably where i'm going to go for school, so they're prepared to do whatever to help me get in.... plus i'm paying for part of it.
 
I went down in October. Hope to start in the spring. The campus is amazing and all of the folks I met were really great. Hope all goes well for ya. I stayed an extra week in Tarpon Springs for fun. Have a good time.

ya, i've done the tour once before a couple of years ago, but now they're opening a new HD center and a backlot and that new soundstage. I really wanna see that. Leaving Ohio here in a couple of hours... 8:40 flight, get down there around 11ish (if no delays) and doing the Full Sail tour at 2.
 
I had a buddy who did the whole program there (moving from the film program into the entertainment business program). He enjoyed it... but as with everything, he said it was not always as good as advertized. His general summary was that it is what you make of it. There'll be plenty of kids who dink around and spend student loan (or daddy's) money on a 32" plasma screen, but who never go to class.

So do your best. There is an impressive facility there, and you'll get priceless hands-on training. Hopefully you'll be able to make it pay off for you.
 
Sitting down at an Orlando Ale House..... got wireless access... about to chow down on a cheeseburger and enjoy the weather before heading to Full Sail. I love it down here, and I can't wait to move down permanently.
 
Yes, the lovely FL weather is great, I'm about 2 hours north of Orlando in Jacksonville and I'm loving our "winter" weather, although it was in the 40's this morning, lol.
 
HAHAHA! its better than 40 for a high like in Ohio. I really need to get out of Ohio... I'm feeling stuck in the slow lane... I wanna get out and do things. I can't do too much where I live. That's why I'm looking forward to moving to FLA. I've got a bunch of really close friends down here from all the trips I've made through the years so I won't feel alone. Here comes the food... peace out.
 
Edge, I couldn't agree with you more...Ohio sucks in the winter...especially the last few years. We've had NO SNOW, no sun, no warmth. Just yucky, cloudy, and cold. Ugh.

Florida sounds nice...hope you like what you see down there, so don't forget to tell us about it.
 
just got back to our place after Full Sail. The new HD stage, and cameras are NICE. they have the new Sony HD cams that are 300 grand a piece, and they have about 3-5. the new soundstage is awesome too. they also just completed a new Entertainment Business building with board rooms, and such to give the workplace atmosphere. they're still completing the backlot, and they have a bunch of sets already done, like Venice, NYC, a dark alley with all the garbage and such. it was so cool. they have 91 acres of land, AND just bought another 90 to build on. learned some new stuff about it, like after you graduate you can audit a course meaning you can come back and learn all the new updated stuff they've gotten since you graduated for free, which is awesome. it's almost set in stone that i'm going to go there, just gotta get the money drummed up first.
 
Yep...I go to Full Sail, its nice. Like said before, it really is what you make of it. Im already at the top of my class, because I exert the extra effort to make things happen. I started in August, and our class will be one of the first to shoot 35's on the new backlot. The new film building just opened a few weeks ago, so thats pretty awesome, and yes, they are expanding their campus...Which is very cool as well. You'll enjoy it. BTW- When you start, we can meet up and talk DVXuser. :beer:
 
definitely man. i can't wait to get down there. i'm so excited. i'd probably do the work study program as well, cause you can't really have an outside job if you go there.
