Headhunting

Sad Max

Artful Dodger
It's nice when one studio tries to headhunt you away from the one with which you're presently working.

Kind of like being married, and hot single women aggressively flirting with you - it's not about acting upon it; it's just nice to get the attention.

ooooh, I know you can't really dish about the details, but that is pretty cool.

At least I would guess so, since neither of those things has ever happened to me...

...ever.

damn. now I'm depressed.

Congrats on the attention

It's a big studio feature; I really enjoy working with the crew with whom I'm presently working, and don't want to screw over the people who hired me...but the present show is tv and in truth I did not get into this business in order to work in tv...

So then you're gonna cheat on your wife?

Naw. I'm more of a serial-monogamy kind of guy (career-wise, that is). There's a meeting this evening and we'll see what happens. In fact I doubt they'll be crewing up in a serious way for another month or two.

So then you are considering it?

...and now I see why you no longer have a link to your IMDb page.

I deleted the IMDB link because I was finding that I couldn't post a certain amount of personal opinion that I wanted to be able to post on certain professional matters, so long as my name was attached to it.

Prudence, or cowardice; take yer pick.

...I want to be headhunted.

I suppose I need to get good at something first though. At least you are wanted. :)

See what 15 years of marriage will do to you?

Coward.

lol - it is nice to be in a tug-of-war of course I imagine you would like it better if it were two women in bikinis from Baywatch, but job tug-of-war is fine too.

Right now my biggest problem is finding someone to replace myself on the current show. I can't leave them in the lurch, and if I don't get someone to fill my position I'll have to pass on the feature.

Shouldn't be too hard to find somebody, right? I mean aren't there hundreds of thousands of people looking for film work? I guess the trouble is finding somebody with ability comparable to your own.
