Head worn Lav

Hello Listers,

I'd like a recommendation for a head worn lav on a boom. The uses would include corporate presenters and I might wear it myself to record notes on a scratch track. Whatever I get first would probably plug into a G2 wireless set, but might consider a wired setup for later. I have trended towards Countryman products for lavs. And in this case, they make more configurations than I thought possible for the B6, so that would be the easy choice once I figured out what I wanted. Any comments on this regarding a favored brand or what features to look for would be appreciated.

TIA

I use the Countryman E6 pretty regularly. They call that an earset since it rests on one ear. Flexible arm, easy to fit & bend for either ear, slim enough to work under (or over) glasses, sound good. Lots of options for flexibility of the arm, sensitivity (talking or singing/yelling), color, etc.
They also have a couple wraparound headsets.

I've used our church's E6 sets on their G2 transmitters, and on my own E6's on my lectro tx. Not cheap, but reliable and sound great. A key option: Do you want a 1mm or 2mm cable? The 1mm cable is good if you're working with controlled talent and want something super light...or are using it for say a musical. The 2mm cable holds up to more abuse.

There are other brands, but I'm just not familiar with them.

I use the DPA Dfine Headset mics, they have a spring loaded ear piece that holds better than any other I tried and they also have an option for cardioid that really isolates the speaker from surrounding noise. They're expensive but top notch sound...nothing I've heard sounds better and more natural.

Both the Countryman and DPA mics are very good. Most mic manufacturers make a some sort of headset mic. OST's is the HM-701 but haven't tried it. I suspect it has the TL40 lav capsule, which would not be good for many singers (max 115dB SPL).
Like the Countryman B6, the E6 is available in three sensitivity options and has three response caps.
