I have a file that I captured in DVHS from a JVC HD 100 and I tried to compress into DV stream using MpegStream Clip...half of the video wont show and it just stops about halfway and wont play again until I move the playhead to the end of the clip(45 min), but the clip play perfect in VLC...any suggestion as to how to get this clip to a DV stream or QT movie? thanks

Unless you have a quad core mac, your fastest bet is to use the SD analog playback to play the HDV tapes back to a PC to capture down to DV resolution.
If you dont have that option, you can always place the files in your timeline, and export as DV resolution. (This works in Adobe Premiere.)
I seem to remember seeing a pixel jitter when I did this, but it was sufficent for an offline edit, and previews for my directors.
