Does anyone know if HDV decks can be rented? (Other than the camera)

I got inspired and wanted to recapture the first wedding shoot I did. A buddy of mine just happen to have a sony mini-dv handy can I could borrow.

I was a dumb-ass and recorded not only part of the wedding in widescreen, but also HD. (I had a sony FX1 in addition to the Panny 100A). So naturally, this Sony Consumer Handycam wont play it back.

Any one have a model number of a FIREWIRE, HDV, miniDV deck that I can ask around about.

Thanks

Any Sony HDV camera should be able to play it back, and you'll likely have a lot easier time finding someone with one of those to borrow/rent. The model numbers include FX1, Z1, HC1, and A1.

The only Sony deck is the M10, and it should also be able to play it back.

No JVC equipment will play it back, so be careful when you ask for "HDV" -- you have to specifically specify Sony. JVC HDV is not compatible with Sony HDV.
