HDV and After Effects

Sorry if this has been discussed already. Just wondering what is a good workflow for getting HDV footage into Adobe After Effects. I'm using after effects 6.5 (on a PC) at the moment and it doesn't seem to have any HDV support. Checked around the net and couldn't find anything that allowed HDV footage to work in AE (checked sites like Cineform)
Do I have to export the HDV footage as a different codec that AE supports?

AE supports every frame size and rate you want. if you want a video 300x100, 640x480, 1280x1020, 500x15,000 playing at 24, 29, 30, 50, 67 fps, you can do it. It is all in how you set up your composition and render.

Bring whatever file you want into AE, and make a new composition. under the coposition properties, you can have it be whatever size you want, playing at however many fps you want. it is as easy as typing the info in.

I think you can set the HD when you set the composition's options, and before you render the film too

You sure can surf. Many people don't realize you can create any size comps you want though, and that can sure be handy.

Cheers Rapier100a but the problem im actually refering to is the fact that AE doesnt have support for the HDV codec, not the resolution size/composition size.

do you have all the updates? or just export DV or uncompressed AVI and render in Premiere, because one of it's updates includes HD codec.

I dont think you understand what they mean.

AE is dependant on the sytem codecs you have installed on your box. If you have an hdv codec installed via avid, vegas, etc. then it will be available in AE.

so if you intall the HD for Premiere (you van download it free at adobe.com) you will able to HD AE!
