I can't import quicktime hdv 1080i60 files into premiere cs3. it says codec not available when i try to bring them in. Anyone know the reason for this? is there a special codec I need to download or something?

I'm new to premier and I'm having a lot of trouble as I expected. I usually edit on mac but I don't have a mac suite available to me any more. I'm trying to put together my demo reel so I can start sending out my resume but I'm having teouble even getting started on the edit. I havent edited on a pc in a long time, I'm so used to everything just working on the mac. most of the footage I have is hdv 1080i60 and dvcpro hd that I shot with the sony fx1 and hvx200. I can't get either of these to work. I knew the dvcpro wouldn't work and it needs raylight but I thought atleast the hdv would work.... cccrrraaappppp

any help would be appreciated. thanks

first up use AE to convert the QT into something more PC frendly AE takes just about what ever you can give it, alteritival try and get a mac sutie Layoff back to tape and pull up in prem, now is the DVCPROHD in .mov or mxf struction? make sure your CS3 is 3.1 and now 3 MXF patch was an update

thanks for the reply man. I found someone to lend me their macbook for a lil while so I could convert the files I needed. thanks again
