HDV 1080i60 (29.97fps) mixed with Dvcpro-50 720p24 -->f. output blu-ray for theaters
Here, i'm a total noob to Hd , and i searched and searched and am all messed up ,
i been asked to edit a full 80 minutes documentary that will be screened in theaters for the whole province here, and maybe also in a few festivals,
for now i'm required to deliver it in blu-ray format ...
i wanted to have your advice on the best workflow for the big screen/blu-ray . considering most of the movie will be based on hi-rez pictures that i will animate in after-effects/or motion4
for the video shots we are equiped with a hpx-170
we will have to blend in a few "low-rez camera videos at 15fps" ( that i will maybe integrate in some decorated canvas using after effects to avoid stretching them even more ...
i thought it would be nice to edit it in Dvcpro 720p24 (native ) .. in finalcut and shoot anything (interviews) using the the hpx-170 in 720 24p .. ( i never recall but the one who does real 24p )
i am also given some footage to integrate and it is the Hardest question i has, i have been given some footage in .mov with HDV setting as described bellow , i don't know what camera it comes from , and if there is any pulldown to do or anything and how to convert it to 24p to fit the dvcpro-50 24p timeline in finalcut pro
the materials i got so far (interviews)
in quicktime from unidentified camera//codec technique, regarding pulldowns/ or anything..
Apple HDV 1080i60, 1440 x 1080 (1888 x 1062), Millions
16-bit Integer (Little Endian), Left, 48.000 kHz
16-bit Integer (Little Endian), Right, 48.000 kHz
FPS:29.97
datarate: 26.58 Mbit/s
same footage in aftereffects shows :
1440 x 1080 (1.33) Separating upper
29.97 fps
Hdv 1080i60
48 khz / 16bits U / mono
so what would be the best workflow for me ? to put this on blu-ray/theater screens
how to set the timeline in FCP , and to get my HDV footage to work in 24p (any pulldown to remove i don't know ? ) ..
thank you very much ... i been a reader for so long of this forum .. so obviously i had to post some day
i usually like to search my stuff around .. but i'm completely messed up on this one... Thanks !
