anyone know how to capture HDR images using a digital SLR? im trying to shoot live motion with cg and need HDRI for the cg artists. heh, never done this before and right now im reading up on it.

You have to take the same picture at all the levels of exposure and put them together in photoshop or some HDRI image processing program.

It's usually best to shoot a chrome sphere, like a chrome gazing ball, so that you can get a 360 panorama. Usually you would shoot five or so stops of range, the more the better. Then you put that into a program like HDR Shop (PC only and version 1 is free) or Photosphere (for Mac, and also free) and convert them to a HDRi. Keep in mind, your camera needs to be locked down securely. PS2 also has a Merge to HDR command and I think it's similar to HDR Shop's but I would use one of the standalone programs.
