I wanted to try out different methods of merging exposures, and this is what I came up with. There were 2 exposures 4 EV apart. In the end, I just put over exposed photo on top of the under exposed one and set its opacity to 30%. Then I used curves to get the look, and Magic Bullet Mojo to increase local contrast ("punch it"). All this done in After Effects, in 16bit.
